CUMULATIVE TITLE INDEX FOR

As an index volume, Volume 80 of Advances in Heterocyclic Chemistry also includes cumulative indexes of authors and titles of chapters in volumes 1 through 80 of the series together with a cumulative subject index for volumes 76 to 80. Previous cumulative subject indexes have appeared in volumes 60, 70 and 75. 

Volume 53 of Advances in Heterocyclic Chemistry is an index volume, which includes a cumulative author index, a cumulative title index, and a subject index. These indexes are published only occasionally. The first subject index covered Volumes 1 through 40 and appeared in Volume 40. The second subject index covering Volumes 41 through 45 appeared in Volume 46. In the present volume the subject index covers topics appearing in Volumes 46 through 53. The author and title indexes cover all volumes. It is believed that it is more convenient for users of the series to have to consult only a few subject indexes rather than search through each volume. 

Using the Science Citation Index (see Section 29.14), list five research papers by complete title and journal citation for each of the following chemists who have been awarded the Nobel Prize. Use the Five-Year Cumulative Source Index for the years 1980-1984 as your source. 

CAS Source Index (CASSI) abbreviations. The most recent printed cumulative compendium of CASSl abbreviated titles is for the period 1907-2004. Annual printed updates are also issued, and a CD version is available, in which the cumulative titles and the annual updates are combined (currently CASSl on CD covers the period 1907-2008). From 2010, only the CD version of CASSl is published. CASSl abbreviations for about 1,500 leading journals are listed on a free website (CAplus Core Journal Coverage List). 

This volume, for the first time, contains a cumulative chapter title index as a convenient reference for quickly locating reviews on special topics that have appeared in past volumes. 

BIOS issued a Technical Index of Reports on German Chemical Industry (7), in 6 parts, which indexes BIOS and FIAT Final, CIOS Roman Numeral Series and JIOA reports. Each part of this publication is a separate subject index for the reports issued in the period covered there is no cumulative index. The indexing is apparently chiefly derived from report titles. 

Finally, Volume 75 is an Index Volume. It therefore contains cumulative title and author indexes for the whole series, Volumes 1-75 of Advances in Heterocyclic Chemistry, together with the subject index for Volumes 71-75, ably compiled by Dr. Peter Kennewell.The last subject index was in Volume 70, which contained subject index entries for Volumes 61-70. 

The exposure rating for a particular job title is then linked with each employee s work history to determine the cumulative Exposure Index to the product each individual has had. 

The Cumulative Book Index is published monthly in New York by the H. W. Wilson Co., with cumulations every three, six and twelve months. It is a world list of books in the English language giving a complete bibliography for the period covered of all works in English in one alphabetical sequence of authors, titles and subjects. The usual details are given of author, title, publisher and price under each entry. 

Check the title page, front and back, for the publisher s name and location. Names and addresses of publishers are also listed in Chemical Abstracts Service Source Index, 1907-2004 Cumulative, pp 211-391. 

The library also issues lists to announce its accessions in certain fields, including science and technology. These include New Serial Titles, which is available from the Card Division, Library of Congress, Washington 25, D.C., at 55 a year for monthly issues and a cumulative annual volume Monthly Index of Russian Accessions, which is available from GPO at 12 per year and East Euro-pean Accession Index, which is also available from GPO at 10 a year. 

Available for manual searching are abstracts that typically provide the name of the autlior, a brief abstract of the article, the title of the article, and identify where the article was published. Alphabetical author and subject indexes are usually provided, and an identifying number is assigned to refer to the abstract. Many abstracts are published monthly or more frequently. Annual cumulations are available in many cases. A comprehensive listing of abstracts and indexes can be found in Ulrich s International Periodical Directory (annual from R. R. Bowker, New York).
