Creation of Fine Particles—In-Line Reactive Crystallization

MSA/EtOAc charge profile Increase in filtration flux [Pg.231]

This example is another illustration of the important effects of seeding and addition rate on reactive crystallization. In the example, the filtration rate of the product crystals is used as a measure of the impact of these critical variables. [Pg.231]

5 CREATION OF FINE PARTICLES-IN-LINE REACTIVE CRYSTALLIZATION [Pg.231]

In-line methods are applicable to reactive crystallization with systems with a relatively fast reaction rate and a short nucleation induction time. There are two in-line devices that have potential for these applications impinging jets and vortex mixers. The reader is referred to Chapter 9 for a discussion of impinging jets as applied to antisoivent crystallization. The application to reactive crystallization is similar—creation of high supersaturation in a [Pg.231]

Impinging jets have been studied experimentally for the reactive crystallization of calcium oxalate by Condon (2001) and Hacherl (Condon) (2003). A primary objective of this study was the detennination of the capability of the jet system to produce fine [Pg.232]
