Correlation correction factor

In our previous report, however, the calculated multiplet energies tend to be overestimated especially for the doublets. This is due to the underestimation of the effect of electron correlations. Recently, we have developed a simple method to take into account the remaining effect of electron correlations. In this method, the electron-electron repulsion integrals are multiplied by a certain reduction factor (correlation correction factor), c, and the value of c is determined by the consistency between the spin-unrestricted one-electron calculations and the multiplet calculations. The details of this method will be described in another paper (5). In the present paper, the effect of electron correlations on the multiplet structure of ruby is investigated by the comparison between the results with and without the correlation corrections.

The frequency correlation lowers environmental disturbances. The correlation provides an output proportional to the content of Aa at the reference signal fundamental frequency, the phase conelation gives the sign of Aa. Where the stress gradients are very steep in materials of high thermal conductivity being loaded at low frequencies, the SPATE signals are attenuated and a correction factor has to be introduced to take into account this effect.

The price of a shell and tube exchanger depends on the type of exchanger, i.e., fixed tube, U-tube, double tube sheets, and removable bundles. The tube side pressure, shell side pressure, and materials of construction also affect the price. If prices cannot be obtained from endors, correlating in-house data by plotting /fr vs. number of ft with correction factors for the variables that affect price will allow estimating with fair accuracy. If not enough in-house data is available to establish good correlations. it will be necessary to use the literature, such as References 16. 17. and 18. 

For in-house correlations, the cost of electric motors should be correlated vs. horsepower with voltage, speed, and type of construction as correction factors or parameters. Correction factors for explosion proof or open drip-proof housings could he developed if most of the data is for TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled) motors. Similarly, correction factors could be developed for 1,200 rpm and 3,600i pm with l.SOOrpm as the base. 

Table 2-15 [15] tabulates the transmission factors of the various equations. Most of these are established as correction factors to the correlation of various test data.

Leva [40] has correlated the data of Lubin into correction factors to apply to a non-irrigated bed pressure drop to end up vith pressure drop for a liquid-gas system in the loading to flooding range. In general this does not appear any more convenient to use than Figure 9-2 ID.
