Infringement copyright

Anyone who violates the exclusive rights of a copyright owner is Hable for infringement in a lawsuit brought in federal court. There is a three-year statute of limitations on copyright infringement actions. 

The term trade secret is well understood by U.S. courts and is a legal term. In general, the U.S. courts have strongly upheld the protection of company- or individual-owned trade secrets. Cases against ex-employees or others who have obtained trade secrets by stealth are relatively easy to prosecute (compared to patent, trademark, or copyright infringement cases). 

Copyright infringement is very serious. We all need to work together to encourage authors to obtain letters of permission and to ensure that everything is accounted for in the authors files. These problems can cost Publish Yourself Inc. a lot of money. 

These uses may not constitute copyright infringement. The determination of whether a use is fair depends on the facts in each case. Even if the facts are virtually identical, one degree of minutiae can cut against fair use. 

Several recent court cases have involved copyright infringement in electronic media. The legal disputes centered on which party controlled specific rights under the contractual arrangements authors had with publishers. A common thread to these cases is whether a publisher controls all rights to publish content... 

The fonts used to create some types of electronic figure files occasionally cause problems for publishers, in both print and Web publications.The problems can include character substitution, distorted spacing between letters,and copyright infringement. 

About 12 months ago, we got a request from a Chinese publisher to get it translated into Mandarin. Knowing China s record on copyright infringement, this was a major achievement. As a result, the book became legitimately available to the Chinese marketplace in the summer of 2007 and has sold over three hundred copies already.
