Benzotriazole and its derivatives have proved to be powerful corrosion inhibitors for many metals and alloys, including copper, solder, brass, steel, cast iron and aluminum, in e.g. heat exchangers, heating systems or automatic radiators. For some recent literature, see <79MI41102, 81JAP(K)81108882, 81JAP(K)81122884). [Pg.730]

There are two types of solders soft and hard. Soft solders usually consist of a mixture of lead and tin and the heat required to melt them is supplied by a soldering iron. Hard solders include brass (copper-zinc alloys) solders, silver solders, copper solders, nickel-silver solders, and solders for light alloys the heat to melt them is usually supplied by a blow torch. [Pg.309]

The amounts of dross formed with SAC and tin-lead solders have been found to be very similar (Ref 73), at the same temperature, for the same duration, and under the same atmosphere, while the tin-copper solder forms considerably more dross. Just as with the tin-lead solder, N2 helps reduce dross formation for lead-free solders. [Pg.9]
