Cooling lubrication cleaning system

To fulfill the task of cooling lubrication safely, all elements of the cooling lubrication system, i.e., cooling lubricant, circulation system with feeding and cleaning devices, must be effectively designed and coordinated. 

One example of the effect of such factors is UV inks used in printing, which were the snbject of a scandal early on, the positive evaluation of aqueous systems and bio paints , which were evaluated veiy positively despite their not unproblematic content of vegetable-based solvents. In addition, the comparatively speedy snbstitntion of chlorinated solvents in cleaning processes and formaldehyde separators in cooling lubricants can only in fact be explained by the pubhc-ity-effective scandals relating to chlorinated chemicals or formaldehyde. 

This hypothesis can be illustrated, for example, on cooling lubricant emulsions as well as water-based coating and cleaning agent systems. 

Traditionally, system oils were simply rust- and oxidation-inhibited mineral oils but the use of high sulphur residual fuels required the introduction of alkaline system oils to provide adequate corrosion protection. A typical system oil now has a BN (base number, see Section 13.8.2) of 5 and sufficient detergency to keep crankcases and piston cooling spaces clean. They are also used to lubricate turbo chargers, stern tubes, deck machinery, geared transmissions and other equipment.
