Continuing this analysis further, we show in figure 4 the evolution of the Mossbauer parameters at 4.2 K as a function of water content. Spectra were all fitted to a single quadrupole doublet. There is a rapid variation of the isomer shift and quadrupole splitting when the water content falls below 6 %, and a plateau above this value. Based on this, Spirkoska et al. [18] were able to use Raman spectroscopy to distinguish between individual GaAs NWs with majority zinc blende or majority wurtzite structures. In Total Reflection X-Ray Fluorescence Analysis (TXRF), the sutface of a solid specimen is exposed to an X-ray beam in grazing geometry. The angle of incidence is kept below the critical angle for total reflection, which is determined by the electron density in the specimen surface layer, and is on the order of mrad. With total reflection, only a few nm of the surface layer are penetrated by the X rays, and the surface is excited to emit characteristic X-ray fluorescence radiation. The energy spectrum recorded by the detector contains quantitative information about the elemental composition and, especially, the trace impurity content of the surface, e.g., semiconductor wafers. TXRF requires a specular surface of the specimen with regard to the primary X-ray light. [Pg.27]

IR analysis can also be used quantitatively to determine the EO-PO ratio [12]. Using mixtures of polyethylene glycol and polypropyene glycol as calibration standards, the ratio of two absorbances, one due to the methyl group of the PO unit (e.g., the C-H stretch band at 2975 cm ) and one due to the methylene group (e.g., the C-H stretch band at 2870 cm ), are plotted against percent of PO content.
