Probe/Insirumentalion Developments The principles of good practice in the design, construction and location of corrosion probes have been reviewed. Specific probe designs which acknowledge hydrodynamic influences and the combined effects of mass and heat transfer have been developed. 

The wonderful practice made vrith Mr. Henry s riflss proves that the principle upon which they are constructed is a good one. 

Those concerned with these aspects of construction planning, however competent and experienced, are all subject to human fallibility and for this reason the independent checking of important decisions has been a fundamental principle of good engineering practice for many years. Proposals such as these, which in no way relieve the contractor of his ultimate responsibility for the safety of the people he employs, but which should ensure that all measures necessary to provide safe working conditions for the man on site are subject to a competent and independent check, could eliminate many of the more serious accidents.
