Consistency management

If your organization does not have a Quality Management system, you can still apply many of the concepts described in these guidelines. However, you will still need to identify a pervasive, consistent management system within which to conduct the integration. 

We will seek to establish efficient processes for managing ESH risk that can ensure comprehensive and consistent management of all our risks. 

Consistency management monitoring information can flow from process-integrated tools to the coordination level. 

In [658], a consistency management approach for different view points [669] of development processes is presented. The formalism of distributed graph transformations [992] is used to model view points and their interrelations, especially consistency checks and repair actions. To the best of our knowledge, this approach works incrementally but does not support detection of conflicting rules and user interaction.

Current practice in indust ry either relies on simple hand-coded batch transformators for data integration or on manual consistency management. Thus, from the industrial perspective, the main result of this transfer project will be the possibility to realize, integrator tools at lower costs and with improved quality and to increase their use in design processes. Ink is like the life-blood of the inkjet printer, and thus also the business. Business calculations averaging costs of ink per meter should include time for refilling reservoirs, storage requirements, and reliability of supply. Consistency is key there must be consistency of the ink, coloration, maintenance of the delivery system through the printer, and consistent management to maintain the printing, quality, and ultimately the business. Ink is discussed in more detail in Chapter 7 of this book. 

To summarise then, different information is contained in diffnent places for and by, different people. Designing a DSS with an underlying information architecture for supporting disuibuted, multi-user access is a difficuk problem. Version control and consistency management are also iion-trivial.
