Mountain states), Chevron (Standard of California), Exxon (from Standard of New Jersey), Sohio (Standard of Ohio), Marathon (covering western Ohio and other parts of Ohio not covered by Sohio), and Mobil (Standard of New York). These companies, derived from the Standard Oil Co., formed an original oil industry map in US, but that map no longer exist, rather the merging and acquisition processes reduced all them into four of the seven majors (ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, ConocoPhillips, and BP America). [Pg.358]

As a reaction to the pressure imposed on refiners operating HF processes, licensors developed safety systems to reduce the inherent risks. Among the mitigation systems are high-volume water sprays to knock down an acid cloud, a low acid inventory, and a rapid acid de-inventory system. HF modifiers, which reduce the volatility and the aerosol-forming tendency of HF, are also offered. ConocoPhillips together with Mobil developed an HF modifier technology named ReVap to reduce the volatility of the acid. It is claimed that a 60-90% reduction in airborne acid release relative to that of the unmodified acid is... [Pg.304]

Siemens Power Generation is a partner with ConocoPhillips and Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., (APCI) to develop large-scale fuel cell systems based upon their gas turbine and SECA SOFC technologies. The design will use an ion transport membrane (ITM) oxygen air separation unit (ASU) from APCI with improved system efficiency. [Pg.191]

The decomposition of methane is an important process since it can produce two valuable products hydrogen and carbon filaments. Wayne Goodman (Texas A M University) and Tushar Choudhary (ConocoPhillips) show that methane decomposition may be a viable alternative to conventional steam reforming as a source of hydrogen, without the formation of COx as a byproduct. The authors examine the effects of catalyst support and promoters, as well as the inevitable regeneration of the catalyst. The formation of carbon fibers, under certain conditions, makes this process an attractive one. [Pg.5]

The authors acknowledge the Center for Hydrate Research Consortium members for the funding and data required for the development of CSMGem. Consortium members include BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Petrobas, Schlumberger, Shell, Statoil. [Pg.685]

Industrial collaborators provided some degree of balance to an academic perspective. Dr. W.R. Parrish of Phillips Petroleum Company (retired) encouraged and contributed to the work from our laboratory for two decades. Dr. J. Chitwood and Dr. J.L. Creek of Chevron, Dr. L. Talley of ExxonMobil, and Dr. T. Palermo of IFP, have also provided leading industrial perspectives on flow assurance. Two decades of consortium participation by the following companies provided industrial perspectives BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Petrobras, Shell, Schlumberger, and Statoil. [Pg.754]
