Create a safe, stable, predictable work environment—Unless they are pathological, people suffer ethical lapses out of confusion, fear, and insecurity, not out of evil. When workers are afraid of punishment or dismissal if schedules aren t met, work tends to become sloppy. When R D vice-presidents fear their jobs are in jeopardy, they might manipulate the information going to corporate management so that their organization will look good. 

In some cases there also occur semistable limit cycles (in this discussion the single term cycle is used wherever it is unambiguous or if no confusion is to be feared) characterized by stability on one side and instability on the other side. This compound (also known as Sernyl, Phencyclidine, angel dust and 1-(1-phenylcyclohexyl) piperidine) has been used as an animal tranquilizer and as a general anesthetic for human surgery. Clinical tests have shown that it has a strong tendency to produce bummers, even in people who dig other psychedelics, but under appropriate conditions some subjects like it. It produces no visual effects, a tendency to fear and anxiety, and could not easily be confused with any other psychedelics. The trip is short (about two hours) at least with low doses (about 10 mg). PCP is probably a waste of time. 

Misconceptions about food additives are perpetuated in the media and popular press, and recently have been disseminated via the Internet. There is confusion about the sources and functions of these compounds. Consumers are confused, for example, about the relative safety of natural as opposed to artificial food ingredients. The chapter considered the engineer s fear of financials and attempted to overcome it with a straightforward discussion of cash flow, income, and balance statements. The mathematics of these statements is simple arithmetic, but the confusion seems to come from not understanding a few key terms. The chapter also considered the utility of ratio analysis—what engineers might call dimensional analysis for companies—breakeven analysis, and the basics of the time value of money. The fundamental reason for taking psychedelics is the experiences they produce. These experiences may be of many kinds. These experiences may be the cause for the effects of psychedelics on behavior. They are also the fundamental thing that must be explained if psychedelics and their effects are to be understood.

Tourniquet use remains controversial and is the source of a good deal of confusion (Navein 2003). While there is no formal treatment for HPPD and drug-induced psychosis, those who have trouble coping with the symptoms are often treated with antidepressants to help reduce the symptoms.
