Conductance background

Conduct background security checks on employees at hiring and periodically thereafter. 

The second column is called a suppressor column. Its function is to convert the eluent to a less conductive species while converting sample ions to a common form. Most fire departments conduct background investigations of applicants who pass the written and physical tests. Some departments prescreen applicants and may reject an applicant who has a criminal record. The eluent leaving the suppressor column contains the sample ions as their respective highly conducting hydroxides in a weakly conducting background of water. The suppression reaction simultaneously serves two functions. First, it maximizes the detector sensitivity to the analyte cation by converting it to its hydroxide because the mobility of the hydroxide anion is 2.6 times that of the chloride ion. Second, the suppression reaction minimizes the detector sensitivity to the eluent. 

Conduct background checks during the hiring process and on current employees (specifically those with access to security-sensitive information) in accordance with regulatory requirements and your company s policies. 

This new regulation will require motor carriers to conduct background investigations on all new applicants. Each motor carrier must maintain records relating to the investigation into the safety performance history of a new or prospective driver pursuant to paragraphs (d) and (e) of 391.23. This file must be maintained in a secure location with controlled access. 

Accident data may also be useful in the selection of drivers. It is important to conduct background driving record checks on all potential employees. Accident data can also be useful in the training process. It can uncover areas in which employees may need refresher training. It may also help identify areas in which drivers were never trained.
