Telomerization condensation

Another variant of condensation telomerization envisages the use of a transesterification process according to the reaction [11]... [Pg.141]

By the method of step condensation telomerization, OEAs with triazinic cycle content were obtained. The synthesis includes in the first stage the production of diols with triazinic groups in the main chain and OH end groups with the following structure [19] ... [Pg.143]

Oligocarbonateacrylate (OCA) synthesis uses, in the main, the method of condensation telomerization. In some patents issued from 1945 to 1947 [20-23] experimental results are presented that prove that carbonic acid forms oligomers containing polymerizable groups of the allylic or acrylic type and one or more carbonate groups. The production of dimethacrylic esters of carbonic acid and of glycol is demonstrated. The process develops in several stages, in the presence of acid catalysts. [Pg.143]

In Russia OCAs and oligocarbonatemethacrylates (OCMs) were obtained via condensation telomerization and in solution at moderate temperatures or at the interface [24,25]. [Pg.143]

OFAs can also be obtained by condensation telomerization of two bifunctional compounds heptylphosphinic acid dichloroanhydride, diethyleneglycol, and oxyethylmethaciylate. Oligoesters with a phosphor content can also be produced from diphenylolpropane [50]. [Pg.150]

In fact, the stereochemistry of the hydroamination seems to depend strongly on the experimental conditions. For example, for the condensation of Et2NH with 1,3-butadiene, either cis-l-diethylamino-2-butene (n-BuLi, CgHs-EtjO) [204, 205], or trans-l-diethylamino-2-butene (sec-BuLi, THF) [155] can be obtained in ca. 98% yield stereoselectivity. In some cases, telomerization products are also formed [205]. [Pg.114]

During the prophase of the first meiotic division (meiosis I) two homologous pairs of partially "condensed" chromosomes must find each other and pair with appropriate orientation. A protein in the telomeres of the chromosomes seems to be involved.269 277 The key structure in meiotic crossing-over is the ribbonlike synaptonemal complex formed by the pairs of homologous chroma fids.271/278 2791 This complex, in which a proteinaceous core or axial element separates the greatly extended chromatid pairs (Fig. 26-13), is fully formed in the pachytene stage of meiosis. Formation of the synaptonemal complex is preceded by development of a few double-stranded breaks in... [Pg.1505]

The cut-and-paste technique has two steps (i) M (or P) screw sense-selective photolysis at the longer /.max region in CC14 to form P (or M) screw sense telomeres with Si-Cl termini, and (ii) Na-mediated re-condensation of the telomeres in hot toluene. Formation of an optically active helical polysilane with an almost single screw sense was evidenced by significant changes in the UV and CD spectra after the cut-and-paste technique, as shown in Fig. 6b. [Pg.135]

A similar strategy was reported by Asahi Glass which prepared fluoroacrylic (FA) diblock copolymem used as surface active agents [117]. Acrylates containing perfluorinated groups were telomerized with mercapto acetic acid followed by the condensation of the telomer produced with polypropylene oxide (PPO) to yield PPO-t-PFA diblock copolymers. [Pg.109]

In future the aqueous biphasic processes will grow in importance because of the great advantages of this homogeneously catalyzed variant. Dimerizations, telomerizations, hydrocyanations, hydrosilylations, aldolizations, Claisen condensations, and a wide variety of C-C coupling reactions will be objectives above and beyond the currently used syntheses. Only the future will tell what importance asymmetric/enantiomeric conversions, especially hydroformyla-tions, will have here, although initial experience is encouraging. [Pg.149]

As cells exit from mitosis and the condensed chromosomes uncoil, certain sections of the chromosomes remain dark-stalnlng. The dark-stalnlng areas, termed heterochromatin, are regions of condensed chromatin. The llght-stalning, less condensed portions of chromatin are called euchromatin. Heterochromatin appears most frequently—but not exclusively—at the centromere and telomeres of chromosomes and Is mosdy simple-sequence DNA. [Pg.433]

The two best-studied ions are Na" and K". The preference of quadruplex central cavity for potassium over sodium ions is the result of two opposite effects from one side the free energy of Na" binding to a quadruplex is more favourable than that of K, but from the other side this effect is more than compensated by the much greater cost of Na dehydration. " The net result is a free energy change in favour of the potassium form. The number of released ions upon melting of the human telomeric quadruplex can be estimated by melting experiments as 5 in the presence of NaCl and 6 in the presence of KCl. Note that this value should not be interpreted as the number of ions bound in the quadruplex channel, as the total number of ions released on thermal denaturation includes the ions bound in the quadruplex channel, and the difference between the number of ions condensed on the quadruplex and on the random coil. In our hands, the dilfer-ences in thermal stability between the sodium and potassium forms of a quadruplex are very sequence dependent values (Tni(K+) — Ln(Na+)) are... [Pg.39]

AMP-protein kinase A cascade (Fig. 11-13). During the prophase of the first meiotic division (meiosis I) two homologous pairs of partially "condensed" chromosomes must find each other and pair with appropriate orientation. A protein in the telomeres of the chromosomes seems to be involved. [Pg.571]

This technique was particularly successful for the introduction of aluminum alkyl halides into co-condensates of first-row transition metal vapors and butadiene/arene mixtures to catalyze butadiene telomerization reactions. The oligomers produced were significantly different from the products produced by heterogeneous catalyst slurry systems. [Pg.230]

Acetoxy-l,7-octadiene (13), obtained by Pd-catalyzed telomerization of butadiene (see Chapter 5.1), is converted to l,7-octadien-3-one (14) by hydrolysis and oxidation. The compound 14 is a useful bis-aimulation reagent. Bis-annulation to form two fused six-membered ketones is a synthetic application of the enone 14 [22], The Michael addition of 2-methyl-1,3-cyclopentanedione (15) to 14 and asymmetric aldol condensation using (5)-phenylalanine afford the optically active diketone 16. The terminal double bond is oxidized with PdCl2-CuCl-02 to give the methyl ketone 17 (76% optical purity) in 77% yield. Finally reduction of the double bond and aldol condensation produce the important intermediate 18 of steroid synthesis in optically pure form after recrystallizadon several times. [Pg.33]

Aminoundecanoic acid is poly condensed in the melt with the elimination of water. The tensile strength of the fiber, 54-63 g/tex, is relatively high. Nylon 11 is produced in France (Rilsan), Brazil, India, the United States, and the USSR. In the first three countries, castor oil provides a cheap supply of raw material (2.5 x 10 kg/yr). In the USSR, the monomer is manufactured by telomerization (cf. nylon 7). [Pg.999]
