Composition, biomass bagasse

The carbohydrate composition and lignin were determined using the NREL laboratory analytical procedures (http //wwwl.energy.gov/biomass/analytical procedures.html). The moisture content of the bagasse samples was determined using a moisture analyzer (Computrac MAX 1000, Arizona Instrument Corporation, Tempe, AZ, USA). [Pg.277]

Jordan CA, Akay G (2012) Occurrence, composition and dew point of tars produced during gasification of fuel cane bagasse in a downdraft gasifier. Biomass Bioeneigy 42 51-58... [Pg.30]

The analysis is based on an LCM feed of 42 tonnes/h, with composition (wt%) of cellulose 40, hemicellulose 27, lignin 23, and others 10, based on dry biomass. This composition is similar to that of sugarcane bagasse. [Pg.41]

Plant biomass consists of three main polymeric components cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. These three polymers constitute an intricate natural composite material. In softwoods, hardwoods, and the abundantly available agricultural residues such as wheat, rice and other eereal straws, sugarcane bagasse, com stalks, corncobs, jute and eotton stalks, eellulose is the chief constituent (over 40% by weight) followed by hemieellulose ( 30%) and Ugnin (-20%). Table 7.2 shows the constituents of some plant biomass. Thus, while cellulose is nature s most abundant polymer, hemieellulose and Ugnin are the second and third most abundant polymeric substances produeed by nature. [Pg.180]
