Color migration

An acrylic acid anti-migrant compound for use in pigment pad dyeing to prevent color migration. Readily dispersible in pad dye solutions. 

The product does not cause yellowing during cure nor does it smoke during the procedure. In practice, INTEX SOFTENER 215 has been found to cause no problems of bleeding and color migration often found in other types of nonionic liquid softeners. 

The fact that they are insoluble enables the drying stages to be performed more quickly, because color migration is unlikely. 

For surface coloration, which includes coated tablets, the choice of color is usually restricted to insoluble pigments. The reasons for this include their lack of color migration, greater opacity, and enhanced color stability over water-soluble colors. ...

Color migration n. The movement of dyes or pigments through or out of a material. 

Visible spectroscopy can used to determine low ppb levels of migration of colorants used for indirect food contact applications. The US FDA specification requires that the colorant migration be <10 ppb.
