Federal trademark law also recognizes other kinds of marks that commercial companies generally do not use. Thus, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registers collective marks, which are trademarks or service marks used by members of a cooperative, association or other collective group or organization. Collective marks include marks that are used to indicate membership in a union, an association or other organization. 35 U.S.C. 1054, 1127. 

In the mark-recapture method of estimating fish population, a sample of fish is collected, marked, and released, and then at a later time a second or recapture sample is taken, which includes both marked and unmarked fish. This approach is based on the assumption that the proportion of marked fish recovered is to the total catch in the second sample as the total number of marked fish released is to the total fish population. 

For example, if the molecular structure of one or both members of the RP is unknown, the hyperfine coupling constants and -factors can be measured from the spectrum and used to characterize them, in a fashion similar to steady-state EPR. Sometimes there is a marked difference in spin relaxation times between two radicals, and this can be measured by collecting the time dependence of the CIDEP signal and fitting it to a kinetic model using modified Bloch equations [64].

A relationship of power consumption to collection efficiency is charac teristic of all particulate scrubbers. Attaining increased efficiency requires increased power consumption, and the power consumption required to attain a given efficiency increases as the particle size of the dust decreases. Experience generally indicates that the power consumption required to provide a specific efficiency on a given dust does not vary widely even with markedly different devices. The extent to which this generahzation holds true has not been fully explored, but the known extent is sufficient to suggest that the underlying collection mechanism may be essentially the same in all types of particulate scrubbers.

The sample bombs used to collect gas and LPG products should be purged, marked, and ready. 

As a filter element collects dust, the air resistance through it will rise, to a point where the system air flow is impaired. Users need to have an objective indication of this limit, and all filters except those on small package units should be fitted with manometers (see Figure 2 7.2). On installation, marks should be set to indicate clean and dirty resistance pressure levels. 

Magnesium may conveniently be determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy (Section 21.21) if a smaller amount (ca 4 mg) is used for the separation. Collect the magnesium effluent in a 1 L graduated flask, dilute to the mark with de-ionised water and aspirate the solution into the flame of an atomic absorption spectrometer. Calibrate the instrument using standard magnesium solutions covering the range 2 to 8 ppm.
