Collaborative structure

A fourth possibility, which arose from our collaborative structural work on both models and cobalamins, is mechanism (4), an alteration in the dmbim position or Co—N (dmbim) bond length [119], UV spectral data have been used to suggest that the Co-dmbim bond is broken during catalysis, giving the so-called base-off (benzimidazole-unhydronated) form of the coenzyme [163]. Furthermore, some unconfirmed evidence exists that axial base-free Ado-Cbi+ is still a partially active cofactor [76]. [Pg.452]

The alliance model adopted by SCIRT is a collaboration between a client, consultant, and contractor who mutually agree to undertake the work to target levels of quality, cost, and time. An additional rewards/sanctions mechanism is put in place to measure the performance of individual delivery contractors over time. Construction work is allocated to them based on their performance. The need to put in more collaborative structures for rebuilding, as demonstrated by SCIRT, has been recognized by Zuo et al. (2006), and the system adopted by SCIRT takes the alliance model concept and applies it in a unique way. [Pg.2043]

TFIIA and TFIIB are two basal transcription factors that are involved in the nucleation stages of the preinitiation complex by binding to the TBP-TATA box complex. Crystal structures of the ternary complex TFIIA-TBP-TATA box have been determined by the groups of Paul Sigler, Yale University, and Timothy Richmond, ETH, Zurich, and that of the TFIIB-TBP-TATA box by Stephen Burley and collaborators. The TBP-DNA interactions and the distortions of the DNA structure are essentially the same in these ternary complexes as in the binary TBP-TATA complex. [Pg.159]

The materials shown and described above were generally prepared from the nucleophilic phenoxide or alkoxide and the appropriate bromide. The syntheses of a variety of such compounds were detailed in a report which appeared in 1977. In the same report, complex stability and complexation kinetics are reported. Other, detailed studies, of a similar nature have recently appeared" . Vogtle and his collaborators have also demonstrated that solid complexes can be formed even from simple polyethylene glycol ethers . Crystal structures of such species are also available... [Pg.317]

In collaboration with Wavefunction, we have created a cross-function CD-ROM that contains an electronic model-building kit and a rich collection of molecular-models that reveal the inter-play between electronic structure and reactivity in organic chernistr-y. [Pg.1332]

Over the last thirty years, international collaboration and cooperation on a scale rarely witnessed in science has led to the development of several very sophisticated software packages for ab initio molecular electronic structure calculations. In the early days, such packages were freely distributed amongst workers in the field. Today, you buy executable code, a licence and professional documentation just as with any software package. [Pg.173]

Kondo maintained his interest in this area, and with his collaborators [62] he recently made detailed investigations on the polymerization and preparation of methyl-4-vinylphenyl-sulfonium bis-(methoxycarbonyl) meth-ylide (Scheme 27) as a new kind of stable vinyl monomer containing the sulfonium ylide structure. It was prepared by heating a solution of 4-methylthiostyrene, dimethyl-diazomalonate, and /-butyl catechol in chlorobenzene at 90°C for 10 h in the presence of anhydride cupric sulfate, and Scheme 27 was polymerized by using a, a -azobisi-sobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator and dimethylsulf-oxide as the solvent at 60°C. The structure of the polymer was confirmed by IR and NMR spectra and elemental analysis. In addition, this monomeric ylide was copolymerized with vinyl monomers such as methyl methacrylate (MMA) and styrene. [Pg.379]

It is our pleasure to thank Dr. Don Nicholson for computational assistance and valuable discussions. The authors benefited from the NATO travel grant No 890816.The research of two of the authors (D.Z. and A.N.A) was partially benefited from collaborations within, and has been partially funded by, the Human Capital and Mobility Network on Ab-Initio (from electronic structure) calculation of complex processes in materials (contract ERBCHRXCT930369). [Pg.483]
