Toys sold in the USA are regulated by the Consumer Products Safety Commission, and the Code of Federal Regulations covers the toy safety standards. This information will be considered in order to assess the effective time when the invention was made and when it was reduced to practice in order to fulfil the requirements for patentability.

Because of its addiction liability, the importation or manuf of diacet-ylmorphine and its salts is now forbidden in the USA by Federal statute.
