Blood agents have also been adsorbed onto a solid carrier, such as pumice, to facilitate dispersal of the agent and increase their persistency after their release. These compositions may appear as free-flowing powders or as a coarse grit. Odors may vary from the unmodified agent. 

To speed the sample encapsulation/impregnation step using a slide warmer or hot plate, the technique described by Chromy (1992a) is helpful. ELID grinding provides the ability to produce spectacular finishes on brittle material surfaces, with surface roughness on the nanometer scale (4-6 nm). Coarse grit size wheels (JIS 325 and coarser) show only slight differences in the final roughness when ELID is applied as compared to conventional grinding. However, for finer wheels (JIS 4000 and finer). 

How do we eliminate these wall-depletion/slip effects The answer is to take the viscometer wall motion into the bulk of the liquid, which is done most easily by either roughening or profiling the wall. Sandblasting with a coarse grit should be enough, since this results in approximate 10 - 20 micron surface variations. However, most rheometry manufacturers supply grooved geometries. 

Different commercial grades of B4C are available, based on boron content and particle size. Technical grades (55-75% B) are usually sold as coarse grit while nuclear (76.5% B min) and high-purity (75-80% B) grades can be obtained with sizes ranging from grit (5-20 mesh) to submicron powder.

Use coarse grit for rapid stock removal and finer grits for harder materials. Use vitrified bond for fast cutting and resinoid or rubber for hi -speed machines and higher finish. 

E. Area of grinding contact affects the choice of grit size anA grade. Large contact area indicates coarse grit size and small contact area a finer size. Small contact area requires a harder grade, the smaller the harder.
