HIMSS, AAMI, ACCE, and CMBES all provide education courses during their conferences, as well as periodic webinars, teleconferences, special publications, etc. 

Worldwide, India continues to offer a number of clinical engineering programs at a university level. Australia also has recently developed programs to enhance the education of clinical engineers. 

It is very good to see the continued activities of the Clinical Engineering Division. This is of significant interest to the IFMBE and we need to see continued advances in harmonizing the education and training of clinical engineers around the world. 

The CMBES Clinical Engineering Standards of Practice was published in 1998. These guidelines outline criteria for health care institutions on the management of medical devices, promote the professional development of its members, and outline the education and certification requirements for clinical engineers and biomedical engineering technologists and technicians. 

Advance the science, technology, ethics, and art of Biomedical/Clinical Engineering through association, education, training, publications, and other materials. 

In the realm of education for Medical and Biological Engineering in Japan, JSMBE organizes 5 training courses a year for clinical engineers and conducts certification examinations for clinical engineers, with approximately 5000 applicants. It also provides accreditation service for clinical medical engineering specialists. JSMBE has accredited 444 specialists in total.
