Empath is a Cabinet database of metabolic pathways that models a metabolic pathway chart. It initially models the Boehringer Mannheim wall chart [35] but other pathway layouts are possible. It currently includes 1462 steps (metabolic reactions). The Empath database consists of more than 8000 live objects. Every object has an exact geometric location, that is, x, y coordinate, which is optionally indicated by visible hotspots. The chart is clickable everywhere and the image recenters itself around the selected point. The current object is the one closest to the center of the image and is identified by a bull s eye. A summary of the object is given (e.g., its structure, EC number, SMILES, reaction stoichiometry, etc.). Empath provides navigational features such as zoom in/out, wider, thinner, taller and shorter.

A large amount of information can be provided on a technical service Internet site by means of hyperlinks, ie, clickable terms or addresses that allow the reader to access multiple layers of information by a simple click of a control device. Some companies have provided their entire library of open literature on their products in the form of material stored within a hypedinked page. The reader can either browse this information direcdy on the site or download it to their own computer to be read at their convenience. 

For those eager to see some MATLAB ODE examples, we advice to click on the MATLAB desktop Help button and to search for Differential equations on the left side Navigator under the Search option. Scrolling down, you will find six clickable items on ODEs and the Examples contain more on ODEs in MATLAB. 

Figures and plots can be generated easily via MATLAB. These can be transformed into and stored in many formats, such as MATLAB s generic, , .fig, or as Jpeg, postscript, RAW, TIFF, etc. files as desired. Simply look at the dialogue box that pops up from the save icon of a MATLAB figure. For a quick introduction to MATLAB graphics, type demo matlab graphics and a Help window will open, that lets you choose several clickable graphics demonstrations. We defer further explanations to our relevant graphics codes in later chapters.

The clickable main.html file is included for convenience in navigating between the various m files and the varying chapter folders using a browser.

Signaling PAthway Database (SPAD) (table 7.1) was developed at Kyushu University and includes clickable maps for 16 signal transduction pathways. It is still maintained but has not increased coverage since 1998. 

Students can use the CD-ROM in conjunction with the text in a number of different ways. The CD-RO.M provides enrichment resources. It is up to each student to determine how to use these resources to generate the greatest benelit. Table 1-2 shows some of the clickable buttons found in the Summary Notes within the Learning Resources and a brief description of what the. students will see when they click on the buttons. 

By using, together with a diol, a triol such as TMP or glycerol it is possible to obtain polyesters with a functionality (f) higher than 2 OH groups/mol, situated in the range of 2-3 OH groups/mol. These polyester polyols are used for flexible PU foam fabrication. Flexible PU foams based on polyester polyols have a unique property their clickability (capacity to be easily cut) and are used in laminates for textile industry. 

PCL polyols are used to produce hydrolysis and solvent resistant PU elastomers which are flexible at lower temperatures. A characteristic of these special polyester polyols is their uniform and fast reactivity due to the 100% primary terminal hydroxyl groups. A characteristic of elastic polyurethanes, based on PCL polyols, is the clickability and superior tear resistance.
