For society as a whole, knowledge of what the data on antidepressants really say should be a clarion call. Resources need to be made available for the provision of effective alternative treatments, and the social and economic causes of depression need to be addressed and overcome. It is my hope that this book will contribute to a wider recognition of the need for these changes in public policy and attitudes.

Variability of U and some trace elements in ferromanganese nodules of the Clarion-Clipperton zone (Pacific Ocean) and mechanism of their formation... 

The nodules studied have been dredged from a number of sites of the Clarion-Clipperton area of the Pacific Ocean floor between long. 137 and 138 W and lat. 12 and 13 N (Fig. 1). The Fe-Mn deposits are located between two famous faults -Clarion and Clipperton and they were the objects of several studies by a number of investigators.

Horticulture Pit. The horticulture pit was constructed in 1969-70 and has been in continuous use since that time. The 8.8 x 3.4 m concrete pit has an average depth of 1 m and has been filled with alternate 30 cm layers of gravel and soil as shown in Figure 1. The soil is a silt loam (Clarion-Nicolett-Webster) characteristic of Central Iowa. A cover closes automatically to prevent precipitation from entering. A tile system constructed below the concrete floor of the pit connects to a sump for sampling of the ground water. The 30,000 L pit has had over 30 kg of more than 40 different pesticides deposited since beginning operation. 

Although the nodules vary widely in their composition over the world oceans, metals are concentrated in three distinct types. One type comprises the nickel-copper-iich nodules of the Clarion-Clipperton variety, which is mainly formed in the equatorial regions. Another type, high in cobalt (1% or more) and low in nickel and copper, appears to be most commonly formed on sea mounts. The third type is high in manganese (35% or more), but low in other metals it is known mainly on the eastern side of the Pacific Basin. As of the early 1980s. the most economically attractive were the cobalt-rich nodules.

The structure of energy makes the emergence of life inevitable if the proper reaction conditions prevail. The radiolarian ooze belt is situated in the North Central Pacific between the Clarion and Clipperton fracture zones, about 10°-20 °N and 120°-160 °W. The reason why the radiolarians are sedimented there is a corresponding oceanic current in the surface water, in which radiolarians have optimal conditions for their growth.

Some of the largest fracture zones are located along the eastern edge of the Pacific Ocean. The Clipperton And Clarion Fracture Zones, for example, originate along the western coast of Mexico and extend up to 3,300 mi (5,300 km) to the west. At their maximum, these zones may be almost 30 mi (50 km) wide and 10,500 ft (3,150 m) deep.

Thus, apoB runs from the N terminus near MB 19 located on the coast of Colombia, 4° west of Bogota (5°N, 78°W) to MB24 above the Atlantic Ridge, 10° north of the equator (10°N, 36°W) to MBll off the coast of Uruguay, 6° east of Buenos Aires (35°S, 52°W) to 2D8 off the coast of Antarctica near Enderby Land (62°S, 50°E) to B4 in Queensland, Australia (25°S, 142°E) to B3 in the Indian Ocean off the southern tip of India, near the Maidive Islands (2°N, 75°E) to 4G3 in the Pacific Ocean, near Johnston Island southwest of Hawaii (19°N, 172°W) and to MB47 in the Pacific Ocean, near the Island of Clarion off the western coast of Mexico (21°N, 119°W) (J.
