Embedded chart activating

To activate (select) an embedded chart for moving, re-sizing or formatting, you simply click once cn the chart. When selected, an embedded chart has black "handles" at the sides and comers. In earlier versions of Excel you double-clicked on a chart to activate it but, beginning with Excel 97, only a single click is necessary to activate an embedded chart. 

To copy a chart, select the chart by clicking in the chart border. Then choose Copy from the Edit menu. A marquee will appear around the chart. Activate the Word document, position the cursor where you want the chart to appear in the document, then choose Paste. The appearance of the copied chart will be a little different, depending on whether you copied a chart in a chart sheet or an embedded chart. Most noticeably, the copy of an embedded chart will have a border to remove the border from the chart before copying, choose Object... from the Format menu, then choose the Patterns tab, then Border = None. 

When you activate an embedded chart (by clicking cn it) or switch to a chart sheet, the Worksheet Menu Bar is replaced by the Chart Menu Bar. The first four commands in the Chart menu — Chart Type..., Source Data..., Chart... 

If you created an embedded chart and would like to convert it to a separate chart sheet, simply activate the chart, choose Location... from the Chart menu, press the As New Sheet option button, then press OK. The embedded chart will be converted into a chart on a separate chart sheet. To put a copy of an embedded chart on a separate chart sheet, first make a copy of the chart, then follow the same procedure. 

Highlight the range of data to be added to the chart and Copy. Switch to the chart sheet or activate an embedded chart by clicking on it. Paste the data. The new data will be added to the chart. 

First, switch to the chart sheet or activate an embedded chart by clicking on it. Click on the desired data series in the chart. The definition of the data series, in the format =SERIES(name, x-values ref, y-values ref, p ot ordex, for example =SERIES("Series2", Sheet4 A 1 A 11, Sheet4 C 1 C 11, 2) will appear in the formula bar. Edit the references for both X and Y values to include the additional data points. Sometimes this is the fastest way. 

The chart must be activated. If the chart is an embedded chart, you must activate it by clicking on it,... 

The shorthand instruction for using Trendline in Excel 95 might read Insert O Trendline, but if you look in the pull-down menu under Insert you may not find Trendline. The problem is that the Trendline option appears only after you have activated the graph (by double-clicking on an embedded chart, or by clicking on the tab of a separate chart). Even then, it shows but cannot be used for the latter, you must first select the particular data set in the graph to which you want it to apply. Only then can you select Trendline (or, for that matter, Error Bars). 

We have drawn a horizontal line in Fig. 1 to differentiate between classical bonded phases, which can all be foimd above the line, and phases with embedded polar groups, which lie below the line. Other phases with very low silanol activity can also be found below the line. An example is ODPerfect, 113, which is not based on silica. Beyond the limits of the chart shown here, one finds packings with exceptionally high silanol activities, such as the classical Zorbax Cjg or Resolve Cjg, both of which lack end-capping and are based on older silicas. 

The type of equipment required can be entered by using the mouse-activated buttons provided on the first worksheet. The user will then be asked a series of questions that appear on the screen. The user will be required to identify or enter the same information as would be needed to do the calculations by hand—that is, operating pressure, materials of construction, and the size of the equipment.
