Castor description

More frequentiy, alkyd resias are described by a combiaed classification ia terms of thek oil length, the type of fatty acids, and any unusual kigredients. Such descriptions as an isophthaUc, very long tall oil alkyd a medium oil dehydrated castor-PE ( pentaerythritol, not polyethylene) alkyd or a short oil lauric-ben2oic alkyd, immediately project the general properties of the reski. 

Description. This class of surfactants essentially covers ethoxylated derivatives of lanolin (wool fat) and castor oil. Lanolin is the generic name of a wax containing a complex mixture of esters and polyesters of high-molecular-weight alcohols (aliphatic, steroid, and triterpenoid) and fatty acids (saturated, unsaturated, hydroxylated, and non-hydroxylated). The ethoxylation is carried out on fractionation products of lanolin (lower aliphatic alcohols and sterols). 

Methods for indirect detection of ricin analyzed samples for components that are present in castor seed extracts, in particular castor DNA and the alkaloid ricinine (Fig. 4.3). These approaches were concerned with crude ricin preparations as described in a terrorist handbook (Darby et al., 2001). Although ricin is not a major component of these crude preparations, they do pose some threat and represent a concern due to their description in such a handbook.
