Carrier oils inorganic

Sprays are the most common means of insecticide appHcation and generally involve the use of water as the principal carrier, although volatile oils sometimes are used. With the older inorganic insecticides, suspensions in water were used at dilutions of 0.1 ndash 0.2%. The development of the more effective organic insecticides has allowed the widespread use of concentrate sprays in which the toxicant is contained at 10 ndash 98% and the amount of carrier to be appHed is enormously reduced. The use of concentrate or ultralow volume sprays has brought about a revolution in spray equipment away... [Pg.301]

Inorganic polymers based on alternating main group element-nitrogen skeletons (e.g. I - IV) are of interest for their potential as elastomers, high-temperature oils, electrical conductors, biological molecule carriers, and precursors to ceramic materials (J - 6). [Pg.303]

These are iron- and copper-based inorganic friction materials used for severe applications like tractor clutches, train, and aircraft brakes. Sintered metallic formulations contain lubricants like graphite, abrasives, and other property modifiers held together by metal binders like copper and iron. Sintered friction materials are normally fabricated as buttons that are riveted or fused to a carrier plate or cup. These friction materials are well suited for heavy-duty applications and find use in either dry or oil-immersed applications. [Pg.1073]
