The N-acetylated amino acid and part of 3""alanine may originate from DPA via the metabolic intermediate of 3 Oxidation, but the reason for the elevated excretion of methylated 4-amino-5-imidazole-carboxylate, degradation product of methylated purine bases, is not clear.
