Three-dimensional (3D) polyaniline (PANI)-graphene nanoribbon (GNR)-carbon nanotube (CNT) composite, PANI-GNR-CNT, was prepared via in-situ polymerization of aniline monomer on the surface of a GNR-CNT hybrid. This hierarchical PANI-GNR-CNT composite with the two-electrode cell assembly showed much higher specific capacitance (890 F/g) than the GNR-CNT hybrid (195 F/g) and neat PANI (283 F/g) at a discharge current density of 0.5 A/g. This composite exhibited good cycling stability with a retention ratio of 89% after 1000 cycles [63]. 

The sound insulation efficiency of ABS/carbon nanotube (CNT) composites was increased with an increase in the amount of CNT. Since the sound insulation of ABS/CNT composite was improved with higher stiffness due to CNT, it might be concluded that stiffness is one of principal factors influencing the improvement of transmission loss of polymer/CNT composites (Lee et al. 2008). 

Enhanced performance was also reported for anode modification with conductive polymers. A commonly used conductive polymer, polyaniline, can increase the current densities of MFC anodes. But it is also susceptible to microbial attack and degradation [39]. Schroder et al. [18] reported that a platinum electrode covered with polyaniline achieved a current density up to l.SmAcm in an MFC. Modification of polyaniline can improve its performance and stability, such as fluorinated PANI [40], PANI/carbon nanotube (CNT) composite [41], and PANI/titanium dioxide composite [42].
