Capacity of membranes

Unless otherwise stated, the enzyme binding capacity of membraneous collagen was measured by the equilibrium sorption method.

HONO. Extraction of ubiquinone with pentane eliminates the nitrate reducing capacity of membrane particles from Klebsiella aerogenes (Knook and Planta, 1971). The activity could be restored by incorporation of ubiquinones.

A membrane reactor is a device that is capable of better performances than a traditional process because it exploits the high separation capacities of membrane. This is not a poor result, especially if compared with packed bed reactors, which are the conventional solution in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and do not typically include any kind of separation mechanism. 

The total production capacity of membrane chlor-alkali plants, including production plans announced by January 1980, is 575,600 metric tons per year of caustic soda. The capacity of each plant ranges from 1,500 to 280,000 metric tons per year.
