Candidate partnerships

Table 20.1 describes potential partnership solutions for implementing the strategy. The column Candidate Partnerships contains options for developing the activity jointly with partners. Partnership Type describes ways in which the activity will help Acme become a better partner to its customers. The table uses our characterization system, or partnership taxonomy, from Chapter 19 to identify the type of partnership required to implement the activity. 

Advocates of end-to-end systems often argue that nonprofit firms are less able to pick and develop winning drug candidates than their private-sector counterparts. Since many Private-Public Partnerships hire executives directly from private industry, this cannot be a matter of individual competence. If the effect exists at all, it must be a matter of incentives. 

Use traditional business models to encourage competitive bidding among the candidates for partnership.

Tlie work performed by this partnership will identify candidate materials, and perform corrosion and physical property tests necessary for NHI heat exchangers and process equipment needed for thermochemical cycles and high temperature electrolysis. 

The dialogue needed to produce this result requires a classification scheme, or taxonomy, for defining partnership types. We propose one in Chapter 19. Many-to-many Your company, one of many serving your market, has many partner candidates from which to choose. Neither partner is currently a dominant company. Two companies form a partnership to separate themselves from the crowd. They may do so to target a particular segment neither could approach alone. An industry "roll-up" is an example. Here, a company buys others offering similar services in a market. 

The school administrators and the law enforcement department working in the partnership must then determine the role their SRO will play. Furthermore, they must determine what characteristics that officer must have to fulfill that role effectively. After determining what characteristics they deem most important for this vital role, the selection committee must develop a list of interview questions they will use in the selection process. The interview questions must be carefully constructed and reviewed to elicit the information desired from the candidates and based upon the established role of the SRO.
