BRADLEY A. SAVILLE is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at i the University of Toronto. He received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in chemical engi-neering at the University of Alberta. He is the author or co-author of over 25 research articles on enzyme kinetics, pharmacokinetics, heterogeneous reactions in biological systems, and reactors for immobilized enzymes. He is a member, of the Chemical Institute of Canada, the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering, and Professional Engineers Ontario.

The AIChE not only refused to establish operating sections in Canada, but only by special request did it permit the establishment of student chapters. The two primary ones that were established and existed for many years were at U.B.C. and McGill. It was also possible for such a student chapter to be an affiliated student chapter of the Chemical Engineering Division of the CIC and later of the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering (CSChE) at the same time. It is undoubtedly true that the formation of the CSChE in 1966, which preceded the forming of similar Canadian societies in other engineering disciplines, by almost 10 years, was accelerated by this indirect type of...
