Building Officials and Code Administration International, Inc.

The International Code Council (ICC) was founded in 1994 by the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. (BOCA), the Southern Building Code Congress International (SBCCI), and the International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO). The ICC publishes the International Plumbing Code, the International Building Code, the International Fuel Gas Code, the International Mechanical Code, and other codes. 

These codes are concerned with safety regulations that relate to fire protection equipment, maintenance of building and premises, hazardous materials, processes, and machinery used in buildings. They are normally issued by authorities like Building Officials and Code Administration International, Inc. (BOCA) or the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). It is important to check with the state fire marshal or other authorities to know which codes are applicable to your area.
