Bucket pattern

The groupings then may be described as mechanical, which will include both ball float and inverted bucket steam traps thermostatic, which will include both balanced pressure and bimetallic elements and thermodynamic or disc pattern traps (Figure 22.13). Each type of trap has its own characteristics, and these will make one pattern of trap more suitable for use on a given application than another. In practice, it is usual to find that the applications in any given plant fall into a small number of categories, and it often is possible to standardize on a quite small number of trap types. [Pg.328]

Galvanized sampling tools should not be used for trace element analysis. Usually from 20 to 25 cores are taken in a W pattern across the whole area. An alternative approach is to traverse the whole area in a zig-zag manner, sampling at random along different sections of the area (Scott et ai, 1971). The cores should be broken up and mixed well in a bucket, then about 200 g retained in a labelled polythene bag. [Pg.9]

Round containers such as drums, pails and buckets have a poor space utilisation. Although a cube offers best utilisation of space it is not necessarily the best shape for stacking, as load interlocking by pattern arrangement is either difficult or wasteful of space. Rectangular or brick shaped outers which fit the pallet dimensions are preferable. [Pg.405]

Hesse was actively involved in the development of the turbine proposed by Lester A. Pelton (1829-1909) by providing the original sketch of a split bucket. As stated by Rouse it is of note that whereas Pelton experimented first in this field of hydromachinery, with buckets improvised from oyster cans, a model made from patterns supplied by Pelton had been tested in 1883 by Hesse in his hydraulic laboratory . Pelton took out a second patent of his turbine in 1889 on small details, and this was followed by others on improvements of the bucket shape and in 1900 on the first needle nozzle. Hesse s laboratory appears to have been the first in the USA. Unfortunately, all that is known about it is found only in a printed report published in 1883, supplemented by a colleague of Hesse relating to the efficiency of a Pelton imit. [Pg.423]

PAINT THE BASE COAT. In four separate buckets, mix one part paint with one part water and one part clear latex glaze. Start with two somewhat similar colors as your base. Bmsh wavy patterns of these two colors onto the wall or piece of furniture so they bleed into each other in fairly organic patterns. Use a wet painting sponge to soften and blur the lines between them. [Pg.236]
