Transparency Bromothymol Blue

A colorimetric assay for lecithin and choline was described by Kotsira and Klonis (1998) using two enzymes (phospholipase and choline oxidase) and an indicator dye conjugate (bromothymol blue-glutathione) co-immobilised on a glutaraldehyde-activated polyacrylamide transparent gel. The change of the... [Pg.130]

A solution of the pH-indicator bromothymol-blue (BTB), slightly yellow, and a transparent solution of sodium hydroxide were used in the experiments to visualise the mixing process. The two liquids react instantaneously and the observed time of the colour change is interpreted as the mixing time. The reaction product has a dark blue colour and is easily seen in the video recordings. [Pg.143]
