Fig. 36 XRD crystallinity (a) and absorption coefficient (b) of P3HT PCBM blends spin cast from either chlorobenzene (left) or chloroform (right) at various annealing temperatures. Interestingly, the increase in crystallinity is accompanied by a quantitatively correlated increase in optical absorption in the 2.0-2.5 eV region. Antistatic and conductive nylon fibers with improved performance and durability can be prepared by spinning. Since most of conductive additives are inoiganic particles, conductive fibers are generally obtained by composite spinning. However, antistatic nylon fibers are laigely produced by blend spinning because lots of antistatic additives are organic materials. [Pg.464]

In blend spinning, a continuous filament of antistatic substance at least 25 to 50% of the fiber diameter should be formed throughout the fiber. An increase in molecular weight of poly(alkylene oxide) component improved antistatic performance but lowered heat resistance. It was reported that a nylon fiber in which long and thin filaments of poly(ether ester amide) were formed by blend spinning showed good antistatic propeilies. [Pg.464]

On the whole, most ultraviolet shielded fibers are manufactured by blend spinning with ultraviolet shielding substances or by coating with ultraviolet shielding substances in the finishing stage. [Pg.467]
