Bleeding syndrome manifestations

This is a formula that treats both the cause and the manifestations of bleeding syndrome due to Spleen-Qi deficiency. 

Rift Valley fever is characterized by high fever and the development of hemorrhagic areas under the skin. Only a small number of cases (<1%) go on to develop the more serious viral hemorrhagic fever syndrome that causes death in 50% of those who manifest this syndrome. The syndrome is associated with mucosal bleeding or hemorrhaging, liver and kidney failure, and shock before death. Some infections can be complicated with encephalitis and a variety of ocular defects.3... 

The commonest causes of death in the Jamaican patients with multiple myelomatosis were bronchopneumonia and other infectious complications, a finding which is compatible with the secondary antibody deficiency syndrome and impaired cellular immunity which occurs in patients with this disease. Bleeding manifestations and renal failure were not uncommon findings, and myeloma kidney was observed in 66% of the cases. Skeletal involvement was observed, but in many cases the typical lesions had to be searched for. Amyloidosis was present in as many as 21% of the patients (Tl) and this may be associated with the high number of patients in Jamaica that are known to excrete Bence Jones protein in myeloma (Mil). 

This chapter introduces the principles, methods and strategies for the composition of formulas that can stop bleeding. They are used to treat various bleeding conditions and are used to treat the manifestation rather than the cause of the syndrome. 

This formula can cool the intestines, stop bleeding, disperse wind and regulate Qi. In this way it treats intestinal wind syndrome that is caused by wind-heat or damp-heat accumulation in the intestines that blocks the Qi and injures the blood vessels. The manifestations are fresh red blood before or after defecation, blood in the stool, bleeding due to hemorrhoids, a red tongue and a wiry and rapid pulse. The sign of wind in the intestines is quick-spreading blood drops before defecation. 

This formula cools the blood, stops bleeding, promotes urination and treats blood Lin syndrome, a type of painful urinary dysfunction that is caused by heat accumulation in the Lower-Jiao and heat injuring the blood vessels. The manifestations are urgent,... 

The decompensated stage, i.e. manifest liver insufficiency, can present as cellular decompensation (e. g. in the case of acute liver failure due to toxic or inflammatory mass necrosis) or be expressed only in the form of portal decompensation (e.g. in cases of postsinusoidal intra-hepatic portal hypertension). As a rule, chronic liver insufficiency is accompanied by a combined decompensation with a loss in function of the liver cells and, at the same time, the sequelae of portal decompensation (collateral varicosis, encephalopathy, ascites, hepatorenal syndrome, variceal bleeding), (see chapters 15 19 and 35)... 

In polycystic ovarian disease, both of the generally enlarged ovaries contain many small follicular cysts (2-6 mm), but larger cysts may also be present. Polycystic ovarian syndrome (Stein-Leventhal syndrome) is characterized by the association of polycystic ovaries with irregular menses, prolonged uterine bleeding, amenorrhea, anovulation, and often hirsutism and obesity. The clinical manifestation of this syndrome begins at or shortly after puberty.
