Sulfate bis

Multiplicative Prefixes. The multiplicative prefixes bis, tris, etc., are used with certain anions for indicating stoichiometric proportions when di, tri, etc., have been preempted to designate condensed anions for example, A1K(S04)2 I2H2O, aluminum potassium bis(sulfate) 12-water (recall that disulfate refers to the anion S20jfi.

Increasing the temperature seems to facilitate the oxidation of CO, since lower amounts are accumulated on the surface [Kardash and Korzeniewski, 2000]. The presence of strongly adsorbed anions in the elecfrolytic solution affects the distribution of products. It has been shown that adsorbed (bi)sulfate diminishes the production of CO,... 

The control experiment in pure supporting electrolyte (dotted lines in Fig. 13.2) shows a sharp faradaic current spike, which is mainly due to pseudocapacitive contributions (adsorption of (bi)sulfate and rearrangement of the double layer) plus oxidation of adsorbed Hupd (dotted lines in Fig. 13.2a), but no measurable increase in the CO2 partial pressure (m/z = 44 current) above the background level (dotted lines in Fig. 13.2b). Therefore, a measurable adsorption of trace impurities from the base electrolyte can be ruled out on the time scale of our experiments. Moreover, this experiment also demonstrates the advantage of mass spectrometric transient measurements compared with faradaic current measurements, since the initial reaction signal is not obscured by pseudocapacitive effects and the related faradaic current spike.

In an attempt to oxidize the bis-sulfite 32 to the corresponding bis-sulfate, one of the rings was cleaved producing isomeric a,/3-unsaturated sulfoxides (Equation 5) <2004TL4365>. 

The hydrogen bis(sulfate) compound exhibits a room-temperature singlecrystal conductivity (four probe) of 2000-2100 ohms-1 cm-1. Thus it can be categorized as a highly conductive species within the tetracyanoplatinate family of compounds. 

The amount of specifically adsorbed phosphate anions in the PAFC is much larger than of the (bi)sulfate anions in the PEMFC. The PEM membrane is specifically constmeted to keep the Pt electrode free of anions, while in contrast phosphate anions are known to directly adsorb to high coverage. The amount of chemisorbed OH tracks approximately with the fuel cell currents, the PAFC having low adsorption of OH at 0.85 V RHE while the PEMFC... 

Sulfates and sulfites. Mono- and bis-sulfate complexes of actinyl ions, An02S04 and An02(S04)2 , are generally prepared from acidic solutions. The geometry about the actinide metal center is pentagonal biypyramidal from actinyl, sulfato, and aquo oxygen atoms. A tris(sulfato) complex has been reported, but it is very weak if it does exist. Ternary hydroxo, sulfato complexes have been reported for uranyl, but they have not been structurally characterized.
