Birth time

There is a variety of ways in choosing r (5, 40-44). If r is set equal to t, i.e. the birth time of the polymer particles in the reactor vessel, then n(r,t) becomes n(t,t) and (n(t,t)dt) represents number of particles in the reactor at some time t which were born during the infinitesimal time interval dt. Integration of (n(t,t)dt) over the time period t will give the total number of particles in the reactor at time t. Since the particle phase space is now the t-axis, the analysis becomes an age or residence time distribution analysis, and equation (II-3) simplifies to ...

Since jqZq seems to set the lower limit for efficient dust formation,4 planetary systems are only expected to form around stars with at least this metallicity. The relative abundances of rock-forming elements in such systems are essentially the same as in the Solar System. Only the total amount of such elements may vary considerably, depending on the birthplace and birth-time of such systems. Planetary systems with unusual elemental compositions, e.g. like those observed in many highly evolved stars, are not expected to exist in particular, oxygen is always more abundant than carbon such that for planetary systems there is no counterpart to the carbon-rich circumstellar dust shells. 

Without an accurate birth time, you can never know what your Ascendant is (see Chapter 11 for more about Ascendants). You won t have trustworthy house placements for your planets. You may not even know your Moon sign because it changes signs every two or three days. Without an accurate birth time, interpreting your chart correctly will be challenging. And predicting the future will be close to impossible. 

Fortunately, finding the exact time is usually easy. But don t be surprised if your mother s memory of what must surely have been the highlight of her entire life turns out to be spotty. Since I haven t done a survey, I have no statistics to bandy about, but I will say this It s shocking how many parents can t remember when their children were born. They don t know if it was 2 05 or 5 02. One mother even confessed to me that she wasn t sure who was born at 10 06 a.m. her daughter or herself. That s why I recommend that you corroborate your birth time through the official record —your birth certificate. 

A more significant problem arises when you have no idea what time you were born. I have a beloved friend, one of many children, who never knew her birth time. And then one day, things got rapidly worse. During an astonishing conversation with an older sister, she discovered that no one in her family could vouch with 100 percent certainty for the day of her birth — or even the month. Suddenly she wasn t sure whether she was a Libra (no way) or a Scorpio (yes). This rare situation is an astrologer s worst-case scenario. 

In the absence of anything resembling an accurate birth time, I recommend that you do what professional astrologers do Pretend that you were born either at noon or at dawn (my preference) and proceed accordingly. (In Chapter 3,1 tell you more about what to do if your birth time is lost in space.)... 

Locate your birth time in the boldface horizontal row at the top of the table or in the boldface horizontal row in the middle of the table. 

Don t forget daylight saving time, which has usually been in operation in the United States from the last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October. You can account for it by subtracting one hour from your birth time. 

Mars can also be prominent for other reasons. For instance, 1 don t know whether Lance Armstrong has an angular Mars. Angularity depends on birth time, and I don t have that information about him. 1 do know this His Mars in Aquarius aspects all but one of his other planets, making it very active indeed. 

A slightly modified approach does not regard the first sampled pp as the first one in the molecule. Instead it accounts for the possibility that the first sampled pp has started growing from a branch point created on a previously formed pp (between 0 and 9), rather than being initiated from a monoradical. Since in all cases the connectivity is based on the same values for the branching probability at the various birth times, the results are identical. 

The MC algorithm determines the birth times and lengths of pps in subsequent generations.
