Biomedical Engineering Society

MICHAEL LEVIN is President and CEO, Metropolitan Computing Corporation (MCC), East Hanover, New Jersey, specializing in process analytical instrumentation as well as data acquisition and control systems for tablet presses, mixers, roller compactors, and other equipment. Prior to forming MCC in 1985, he was a consultant to pharmaceutical companies such as Merck, Sandoz, and Warner-Lambert. A member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, and the Biomedical Engineering Society, Dr. Levin received the Ph.D. degree (1985) in biomathematics from the University of Washington, Seattle.

There are also several scientific meetings that include biomedical sensors. The major meetings in the area include the international conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society and the Annual Meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society. Extended abstracts for these meetings are published on CD-ROM each year. 

Dr. Jun is a Vice President of Korean-American Biomedical Engineering Society (KBMES).

Chien has served as president of the Microcirculatory Society (1980-81), the American Physiological Society (1990-1991), the Federation of American Societies of Experimental Biology (1992-93), the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering (2001-2002), and currently serves as the president of the Biomedical Engineering Society and the International Society of Biorheology.
