Devianto et al. [21] investigated the poisoning effect of H2S on Ni-based anodes in MCFC at low H2S concentrations, simulating biogas impurity. A conventional Ni-Cr anode was coated with ceria using dip coating to form a rare earth metal oxide thin layer on the surface of the anode. Electrochemical studies of the Ni-based samples were performed in symmetric cells under anode atmosphere (H2, CO2, H2O, and N2 as balance) with 2, 6, 12, and 24 ppm of H2S by means of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. [Pg.133]

FIGURE 2.1 Schematic representation and picture of a lab-scale semi-batch reactor used for enzymatic desulfurization of simulated biogas containing SOOOppm of H2S. Outlet gas mixture is analyzed using a GC equipped with a TCD and a FPD for the detection of CH4/CO2 and H2S, respectively. [Pg.22]

Figure 2.2a shows the effect of enzyme concentration (1.5-5%) on the H2S removal from simulated biogas for a period of 8h. Yellow line represents the H2S concentration in the feed stream (3009 ppm). H2S in the outlet gas was detected only for enzyme concentrations of <4%. H2S concentration lines show a breakthrough that depends on the enzyme concentration. [Pg.23]
