L-207A Movacite is the "star" of the Line. Nomally the product will disperse to a 7 Hegman Grind. All particles are Individually platey with few clusters. 98% of the particles will fall between one and ten microns. L-207A as fine as it is still has the uniqueness of low binder demand with superior flow properties. 

Waterbased binders are increasingly used in low VOC coatings, and like all other binders, demand for waterborne alkyds is continuously growing. Waterborne alkyd resins can be broadly categorized into two groups water-reducible alkyds and alkyd emulsions. 

The precision of oil absorption determinations by the spatula method is not high and may vary with operator, although with experience, deviations by a single operator can be reduced. Despite these deviations, the oil absorption value still remains very important to coating formulators, as it helps estimate binder demand for a given pigment in a coating formulation.

Daper Novaclte lies between 1250 and L-207A in fineness. It is the coarsest of the finer grades. Paper is a candidate as requirements become stricter with regard to fineness, gloss control and abraslvlty. Even though it is quite fine. Paper still has the uniqueness of low binder demand with superior rheological flow properties. 

Adhesives and sealants - Synthetic sihcas are used in adhesives, caulks, and sealants to control flow and sag, improve bond strength, and provide reinforcement. Moisture-sensitive products, such as one-part RTV silicones, use fumed sihca preferentially. Finely ground natural sihca is used for its low moisture content, low cost, low binder demand, and its ability to improve tensile strength without affeeting flexibility or durabihty. 

High brightness ultrafine ground and precipitated calcium carbonates are used as Ti02 extenders and opacifiers in water-based paints. They have a higher binder demand than filler grades, but better dry hide and gloss... 

Mica s relatively low brightness and high binder demand neeessitate low loading levels in most deeorative eoatings.
