Sweden benchmarking

The authors wish to sincerely thank Dr. Ulf Jeppsson and Dr. Christian Rosen from the University of Lund in Sweden for providing us with their MATLAB implementation of the benchmark simulation model. Their help is greatly appreciated. [Pg.544]

The allocation of allowances to new energy installations will be restricted to CHP. Neither new hot-water plants nor new condensing power plants will receive free emission allowances, which is a rule unique to Sweden. Benchmarks have been developed for this purpose. CHP is allocated allowances for both heat and electricity production. For electricity the benchmark is 265 t CCC/GWh antJ for heat production 83 t CO2/GWI1. These benchmarks have been based on data of actual emissions and production from Swedish CHP, condensing plants, heat boilers and industrial CHP, including both fossil and... [Pg.149]

The automatic alignment procedure of Compass can also be implemented with CoMFA, giving results similar to Compass (U. Norinder, Sweden, personal communication to T. I. Oprea, 1997). [Pg.175]

The SUNflower approach was first presented in 2002 (Koomstra et al., 2002), when the road safety efforts of the three safest countries worldwide were compared Sweden, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The main aim of this comparison was to acquire better insight into the policy development processes of these three countries. It was hoped that this comparison would identify the crucial points that had made it possible for these nations to improve their respective road safety records, and to learn how further improvements could be achieved. Later, this approach was expanded to include nine countries (Wegman et al., 2008). These efforts eventually resulted in a proposal to benchmark the safety performance of countries and jurisdictions (states within countries, provinces) using a composite road safety performance index (Wegman et al., 2008 Wegman and Oppe, 2010). [Pg.411]
