The present paper describes the current state of AUTONOM (AUTOmatic NOMenclature), a computer system which has been developed at the Beilstein Institute. The system, when fully implemented, should provide the chemical community with a completely automated structure-to-name translator. [Pg.56]

The next three chapters concern chemical nomenclature. One from Hull University deals with integration of structure-based systems and nomenclature. Janusz Wisniewski, in a popularly acclaimed presentation, demonstrated Beilstein s AUTONOM program at the conference and his chapter describes this microcomputer program for generating lUPAC names from structural input. Val Metanomski and Joy Merritt provided a poster on Chemical Abstracts Service conventions for macromolecules. [Pg.503]

ALGORITHMIC NAME GENERATION AutoNom PROGRAM FROM BEILSTEIN... [Pg.1887]

Some months iater it was decided that the usefulness of the system within Beilstein would be appreciated by the wider chemicai community and, after a technical re-make, in February 1991 it was offered as a commercial software package under the name AutoNom (from Automatic Nomenclature ). [Pg.3277]

The capture of the user interface screen (under the Beilstein Commander) for the currently available Windows and Apple Macintosh Version 2.0 of AutoNom is shown in Figure 1. [Pg.3278]

The performance of the program has been evaluated internally at Beilstein on many occasions. This has delivered important data on how it should be corrected and updated and in which direction further development should go. Besides this, independent evaluation (of Version 1.0) has been conducted at Wyeth Ayerst Research, Princeton, NJ, USA, where AutoNom was implemented (and since then regularly used) just after its release... [Pg.3279]

AutoNom is distributed in Europe by Beilstein Informationssysteme GmbH and in the USA by Beilstein Information Systems, Inc. (see Beilstein informationssysteme GmbH). [Pg.3279]
