Two facts support this theory. First, Mr. A was restless and preoccupied with thoughts of Metropolis and Miss B before he fell asleep. Second, Mr. A is interested in psychical phenomena (as many electrical engineers seem to be) and would have been pleased to experience a psychic dream. (He verified this when he became aware of the A-A and A-B parallelisms.)... 

Apparent OOBEs were one among many apparently psychic experiences that Ingo Swann experienced as a child. They are described in his fascinating book, To Kiss Earth Goodbye [132]. Like many children who had unusual experiences, he was made painfully aware by the taunts and jeers of adults and other children that he did not fit in, and he suppressed most of these phenomena. Later in his adult life, he redeveloped some of them. 

I have known many people who have claimed to be psychics. Some of them have demonstrated psi abilities under laboratory conditions others are self-professed psychics. Some of them struck me as highly mature, loving, and aware, as having the kind of qualities that I hope are associated with being spiritual. Some exuded sentimental spirituality all over the place and believed it themselves, but they struck me as being as neurotic as the rest of us (or more so). Many were quite unremarkable. The limited laboratory studies that have looked for personality correlates of psi ability have not had any particular success [96], and my own impressions of psychcis have not suggested any connection between personality and psychic ability. 

The British and the American Societies for Psychical Research have accumulated much evidence that indicates that ESP is a fact that must be taken into consideration if we are to have a truer view of life. With this ESP, some can become aware of events taking place at a distance in space (clairvoyance). Some can become aware of events that will occur... 

Several authors have documented the way that this new type of drug was perceived to work in the early days after its introduction into medicine and psychiatry (Breggin 1993b Cohen 1997 Gelman 1999 Valenstein 1988 Whitaker 2002). In 1952 Delay and Deniker noted that the apparent indifference or delay in response to external stimuli, the emotional and affective neutrality, the decrease in both initiative and preoccupation without alteration of conscious awareness or in intellectual faculties constitute the psychic syndrome due to treatment. They also described how patients returned to normality when the drug was stopped the patient, if he has been pale, regains his normal colour and activity and his normal "spirit" (Delay Deniker 1952, pp. 503-504). 

To understand an ordinary depression it is necessary to have experienced one to comprehend the ravings of a madman, it is necessary to have raved oneself but without losing the awareness of one s madness, without having lost the power to evaluate the psychic changes occurring in the mind. 

LESSON First, the unconscious psyche is to some degree autonomous, and it is important to be awar of how the psychic energy of others can affect one in unexpected ways -- emotionally, mentally and in some cases even physically. My host was familiar with techniques of Shamanic attack, and although I remain convinced that he never consciously intended to assault me, some portion of his unconscious was acting out his frustration at having to deal with dinner guests when he was... 

Individual awareness is composed of a family" of interconnected psychological complexes organized around a central self. The physical body is a monad or vessel "containing" higher dimensional realms wherein these entities dwell. The three-dimensional ego-complex experiences an illusion of integration where it in fact does not exist. More and more we see the error of this dichotomy, since we are doing both all the time. You cannot work in only one way and do justice to an individual s need to develop psychic awareness. 

EXTENSIONS AND COMMENTARY As with ALEPH itself, and in most ways with the entire ALEPH family, there is no predictability of the dose/response relationship. One person had expressed his psychic isolation by taking and maintaining a fetal position in relative hibernation for several hours and with substantial amnesia this at a four milligram dose. Yet another person, at fully twice this amount, was aware of a slight light-headedness that could in no way be measured as more than a bare threshold.
