Atmospheric resistance components

Grain internal resistance (Ri) of zirconia particle on the real axis as lead wires and solid electrolyte, zirconia grain boundary matrix resistance (R2), and interface resistance (R3) between zirconia Pt electrodes constitute DC component. The sensor element is exposed to the exhaust gas and R3 resistance suffers effect of the atmosphere. Therefore, if resistance component of the mainstream of grain internal resistance is realized, the sensor element resistance to detect in the high-frequency region, relationship between the sensor element temperature and resistance can be realized without effect of the atmosphere. [Pg.53]

Green to bluish black, iridescent crystals. Soluble in fused alkali hydroxides. Abrasives best suited for grinding low-tensile-strength materials such as cast iron, brass, bronze, marble, concrete, stone and glass, optica structural, and wear-resistant components. Corroded by molten metals such as Na, Mg, Al, Zn, Fe, Sn, Rb, and Bi. Resistant to oxidation in air up to 1650°C. Maximum operating temperature of 2000°C in reducing or inert atmosphere. [Pg.655]

Carbon soot from resistive heating of a carbon rod in a partial helium atmosphere (0.3bar) under specified conditions is extracted with boiling C H or toluene, filtered and the red-brown soln evapd to give crystalline material in 14% yield which is mainly a mixture of fullerenes C q and C70. Chromatographic filtration of the crude mixture with allows no separation of components, but some separation was observed on silica gel... [Pg.247]

Polyethylene displays good heat resistance in the absence of oxygen in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere, up to the temperature of 290°C. Higher temperature brings about the molecular-chain scission followed by a drop in the molecular-weight average. At temperatures in excess of 360°C the formation of volatile decomposition products can be observed. The main components are as follows ethane, propane, -butane, n-pentane, propylene, butenes and pentenes [7]. [Pg.81]

Although molybdenum is resistant to molten glass, except leaded, molybdenum components not coated with glass but exposed to the oxidising furnace atmosphere corrode rapidly due to volatilisation of molybdenum oxide above 370°C. To overcome this, stirrers etc. for use in glass plant are physically clad with platinum sheet in vulnerable areas. Modern plating techniques have enabled dense platinum coatings to be put onto the surface of the molybdenum and it is expected that this technique will be exploited further in the near future. [Pg.849]

Moisture-curable urethane systems (one-pack) can be considered as two-component systems which use atmospheric moisture as the second component. One-pack urethane coatings can be produced that are similar in physical properties to the two-pack systems for almost all applications. These highly complex systems can have a great deal of flexibility. Claimed advantages are a one-pack system, rapid cure, even at low temperatures, excellent chemical and abrasion resistance and good flexibility. Although these systems have been available for some time in other countries of Europe, they are only recently beginning to be of interest in the UK. [Pg.584]

One of the mayor drawbacks is that only volatile and temperature-resistant compounds can be investigated. Gases are magnetized faster than liquids, because they have shorter spin-lattice relaxation times (T ), due to an effective spin rotation mechanism. Therefore, pulse repetition times in flow experiments can be in the range of 1 s and some dozen transients can be accumulated per separated peak. Nevertheless, the sample amounts used nowadays in capillary GC are far from the detection limit of NMR spectroscopy, and therefore the sensitivity is low or insufficient, due to the small number of gas molecules per volume at atmospheric pressure in the NMR flow cell. In addition, high-boiling components (> 100 °C) are not easy to handle in NMR flow probes and can condense on colder parts of the apparatus, thus reducing their sensitivity in NMR spectroscopy. [Pg.197]

Aliphatic acrylic polyurethane 41 50 30 min 4 h Two components, excellent color finish, excellent resistant to atmospheric exposure, resistant to mineral oils, paraffin and gasoline... [Pg.99]

To increase fundamental knowledge about ionic resistance, it is important to develop a methodology to experimentally isolate the contributions of the various cell components. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy has been widely used by Pickup s research group to study the capacitance and ion conductivity of fuel cell catalyst layers [24-27] they performed impedance experiments under a nitrogen atmosphere, which simplified the impedance response of the electrode. Saab et al. [28] also presented a method to extract ohmic resistance, CL electrolyte resistance, and double-layer capacitance from impedance spectra using both the H2/02 and H2/N2 feed gases. In this section, we will focus on the work by Pickup et al. on using EIS to obtain ionic conductivity information from operational catalyst layers. [Pg.288]
