Associated emotions

My flying was hampered by the uneven, jagged, and steep walls of the cave, which was structured like an immense gallery with a helical twisting course in its upper reaches. I was having the usual mix of conviction (of course I can fly ) and doubt (flying is impossible ), and the associated emotions of elation and fear. 

Prior use of benzodiazepines or opiates limits the psychotomimetic effects of ketamine. There has been a double-blind, placebo-controlled study of the role of lorazepam in reducing these effects after subanesthetic doses of ketamine in 23 volunteers who received lorazepam 2 mg or placebo, 2 hours before either a bolus dose of ketamine 0.26 mg/kg followed by an infusion of 0.65 mg/kg/hour or a placebo infusion (438). The ability of lorazepam to block the undesirable effects of ketamine was limited to just some effects. It reduced the ketamine-associated emotional distress and perceptual alterations, but exacerbated the sedative, attention-impairing, and amnesic effects of ketamine. However, it failed to reduce many of the cognitive and behavioral effects of ketamine. There were no pharmacokinetic interactions between subanesthetic doses of ketamine and lorazepam.

In the early part of the twentieth century, the Restatement of Torts concluded that one s interest in freedom from emotional or mental distress was not of sufficient importance to require others to refrain from conduct intentionally designed to cause such distress upon pain of adverse legal consequences. The interest in emotional and mental tranquility was simply one for which the law formerly provided no protection. More recently, according to Prosser and Keeton on Torts, 12 (1984, 5th edn.), a plaintiff who successfully proves physical personal injury is entitled to compensation for all damages for injury past, present, and future associated with the circumstances giving rise to the action. Consequently, a plaintiff who proves physical injury causally related to exposure to an environmental agent may recover for both the physical injuries and for any associated emotional distress .

The order in which they described the categories was the same for all subjects. Thus, at first, they were asked to describe the perfume s Olfactory characteristics. Second, they were asked to describe the Associated Emotions. Third, we requested they come up with some associated Mental Images. Finally, they were asked to associate Lifestyles with the perfume samples. 

Results of the Associated Emotions profile. As regards the Emotions, G is apart from H and 1 for France and China, unlike the Olfactory positioning. And for France, C is apart from women s fragrances and E from men s fragrances. Moreover, clusters slightly break up for France. (Fig. 19.12). The perception of these perfumes through emotions has evolved versus the strictly olfactory description, into an even finer discrimination for French consumers.
