Application of Natural Fiber as Reinforcement in Recycled Polypropylene Biocomposites

Application of Natural Fiber as Reinforcement in Recycled Polypropylene Biocomposites [Pg.523]

Engineering Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar, India Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India [Pg.523]

The use of natural fiber reinforcements in recycled thermoplastic polymers has generated considerable research interest due to the increasing environmental threat created by the high consumption rate of petroleum-based plastics. Therefore, there is a growing interest in the development of green, environmentally-friendly composites for agro-based structural materials. Apart from this, the renewed interests in recyclability and environmental sustainability have also arisen in the last few years. The best possible way to develop such composites are to incorporate natural fibers into recycled [Pg.523]

Vijay Kumar Thakur (Ed.), Lignocellulosic Polymer Composites. (523-550) 2015 Scrivener Publishing LLC [Pg.523]

Natural fibers such as sisal, flax, jute and wood-fibers possesses good reinforcing capability when precisely compounded with polymers. These fibers have attracted attention because of their low cost [19-21]. The advantages of natural fibers over synthetic fibers [Pg.525]
