Antimony trichloride exposure

In a report from Russia, an increase in the number of spontaneous abortions was reported in women exposed to antimony in the workplace " Exposure levels were not available. No effects were observed in the offspring of rats given low levels of antimony trichloride in the drinking water. 

The 5,6,7-cis-triene configuration of vitamin D3 is important for its biological activity as the 5,6-trans form has very low activity. Exposure to iodine in non-polar solvents under diffuse light (39,40) or to mild acidic conditions (41) affords formation of the 5,6-trans isomer. The reverse transformation occurs photochemically (42). The 5,6-trans isomer can undergo further isomerizations upon exposure to heat (43) or acids or treatment with antimony trichloride. The cis and the trans forms of vitamin D3 display characteristic ultraviolet properties. The cis form as shown earlier has a UV maxima at 265 nm. The trans form has a UV maxima at 273 nm. 

Acute respiratory exposure of seven workers to 70-80 mg m of antimony trichloride, SbClj, resulted in irritation of the upper respiratory tract. Antimony pentachloride, SbCls, caused severe pulmonary edema in three cases, two of them being lethal. ... 

Chlorocyclopropene is covalent, even in solution in sulphur dioxide, but strong Lewis acids such as antimony pentachloride, aluminium trichloride or silver tetrafluoroborate remove a chloride ion and provide an unsubstituted cyclopropenium salt [6,7]. Cyclopropenium hexachloroantimonate is a colourless solid which is stable for some days at room temperature and indefinitely at -20°, but exposure to atmospheric moisture causes rapid darkening. Spectra are in accord with the symmetry of the cation.
