Anti-icing coatings

As a coating offers increased anti-icing effectiveness and durability than fluorocarbon and silicone elastomers. These icephobic coats can reduce the accumulation of ice on products such as rooftops, aircraft, radomes, antennas, ships, and power-transmission lines. The weight of such accumulations of ice has led to aircraft crashes, fallen power lines, etc. The icephobic coats reduce the adhesive force between ice and a surface. Polyphosphazene elastomers possess these desired properties, in addition have low glass transition temperature (Tg), good environmental stability, curability, and moderate cost. 

Uses Solvent in hydraulic brake fluids, cutting oils, textile lubricants, printing inks aromatics extraction solvent comonomer in unsat. polyester and alkyd resins reinforced plastics plasticizers in paints cosmetics in food-pkg. adhesives fragrance fixative/diluent petroleum anti-icing additive PU chain extender surfactant for unsat. polyester resins, paints in paper/paperboard in contact with aqTfatty foods defoamer in food-contact coatings in surf, lubricants for mfg. of food-contact metallic articles... 

Nickel coated carbon fiber can be used as a conductive plate for fuel cell plates, ice trays and automotive mirror housings an electronic housing to provide EMI shielding for computers, cellular phones, anti-lock brakes, coaxial cable and telecommunication as EMI shielding at electronic board level for computers, cellular phones and 900 MHz phones. Bell and Hansen [251] have described the use of Ni coated fibers for aerospace applications.
