Annular parts

Mold design. PTFE resins are molded in molds similar to those utilized for thermosetting resins or metal powders. A complete mold consists of a cylindrical or rectangular die and upper and lower end plates and a mandrel for annular parts. These parts are normally made of tool steel to allow machining, and plated with chromium or nickel to protect them from corrosion. Occasionally, the end plates are made of brass or plastics such as nylon. A small diametrical clearance is designed in the end plates to allow easy assembly and air escape. [Pg.163]

Ermakova [29] developed an SBD for the washing medium drained from an electrolysis bath containing manganese chloride and iron chloride. The inert packing bed was an aluminum silicate catalyst. To prevent hydrolysis, aluminum chloride was added to the washing medium (30-50 kg/m ). The inlet gas temperature was 500°C-550°C the outlet temperature was 140°C-150°C. Gas velocity in the annular part of the SBD was in the range 3.2-3.6 m/s. [Pg.366]

Shrink fit n. A method of joining circular and annular parts in which the outer member, having a slightly smaller inside diameter than the inner member s outside diameter, is heated, causing it to expand, then slipped into place over the inner member and allowed to cool. Alternatively, one can chill the inner member in liquid nitrogen, slip it into the outer member, and let is warm. Care must be taken in designing the joint to have the final stresses in both members well below yield values so as not to lose the joint to creep over time. Compare snap fit. [Pg.880]

Graphite block having the hole in the centre, as tl annulator part, will of course contain many holes (smaller than annular part) to accommodate fuel channel, control rods, instrumentations, etc. Since temperature maximtim of the operating condition is much less than 1OOOC7 it is not necessary to be cooled. [Pg.54]

This is made of very soft PVC (30% plasticizer), and its function is to prevent scratching of polished surfaces during cleaning. It fits snugly on to the annular part B and is then permanently fixed by ultrasonic welding to B . The selection of soft PVC for this part gives the required protection in service, and allows efficient welding of the two PVC components. PST 1 explains this material more fully. [Pg.35]

Ring An annular part of a radial rolling bearing incorporating one or more raceways. Roller bearing An antifriction bearing with rollers as rolling elements. [Pg.530]

Because indirect-heat calciners frequently require close-fitting gas seals, it is customaiy to support aU parts on a selFcontained frame, for sizes up to approximately 2 m in diameter. The furnace can employ elec tric heating elements or oil and/or gas burners as the heat source for the process. The hardware would be zoned down the length of the furnace to match the heat requirements of the process. Process control is normaUy by shell temperature, measured by thermocouples or radiation pyrometers. When a special gas atmosphere must be maintained inside the cyhnder, positive rotaiy gas se s, with one or more pressurized and purged annular chambers, are employed. The diaphragm-type seal ABB Raymond (Bartlett-Snow TM) is suitable for pressures up to 5 cm of water, with no detectable leakage. [Pg.1210]

Annular flow (A) existed at high gas superficial velocities and at the entire range of liquid superficial velocities. In annular flow, liquid film formed at the side wall with part of the liquid remaining in the three corners of the channel, while the continuous gas core flowed concurrently with the liquid phase. [Pg.202]
