Analytical Applications of NMR

NMR spectroscopy is used for both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The applications of NMR are very diverse and only a very few examples can be given here. The student interested in applications of NMR is advised to look at journals such as Analytical Chemistry, published by the American Chemical Society, or Applied Spectroscopy, published by the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, for an overview of the wide range of uses for NMR. Particularly useful is the annual issue of Analytical Chemistry dedicated to Applications Reviews (odd-numbered years) or Fundamental Reviews (even-numbered years). [Pg.154]

It is apparent from the above discussion that the major innovations in analytical applications of NMR over recent years have involved overcoming the challenges associated with new types of samples, which have been driven by... [Pg.124]

The vast majority of analytical applications of NMR spectroscopy can be classified under two headings determination of structures of pure compounds and quantitative determination of mixtures. The monitoring of the progress of reactions is, of course, only a subcategory of the latter class. [Pg.355]
